Cooke Aquaculture Scotland were pleased to be able to support the Orkney
traditional dance association at their annual Ceilidh weekend in April.
The association aims to promote, revive, and preserve traditional dance
throughout Orkney. Every year, a programme of events is held on Orkney over
three days and is attended by locals and dancers from all over the world. Local
tutors were able to teach dances from Orkney & Hoy’s past and also traditional
Ceilidh dances.
The end of each event culminated in a Ceilidh with music from Robert
Whitehead and the Danelaw Dance Band . Local bands also featured, including
the Kirkjuvagr Ceilidh Band, the Dave Bowen Trio and the Jim Anderson Band.
Cooke Aquaculture Scotland were part sponsors of the Orkney style supper, as
well as providing salmon which made delicious fillings for the sandwiches.
